Abstract

One of the most crucial tools that make global connectivity possible is the media. The word "media" comes from the Latin word "medium," meaning "in the middle." The word includes not only traditional media channels, like print, radio, and television, but also technology-based media, like mobile phones, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and YouTube. The basic role of mass media—be it visual, print, or audio—is to spread messages that include information, entertainment, and advertisement to a wide and diverse audience. The media is typically considered the fourth estate of the government.
