Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have become increasingly prevalent in various applications, ranging from environmental monitoring to industrial control systems. This paper presents a comprehensive study on virtualization in WSNs, focusing on how it enhances network efficiency and flexibility. Virtualization methods allow for the partitioning of WSN resources and facilitate the coexistence of multiple applications, reducing deployment and maintenance costs. We will discuss the underlying principles, latest advancements, and challenges of implementing virtualization in WSNs.
